In early 2016 I translated the Latin America & Caribbean Regional Report ahead of sixth global meeting of the Farmers’ Forum in Rome. The Farmers’ Forum was established in 2005 as a process of consultation and dialogue between smallholder farmers’ and rural producers’ organisations, the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and their Member States. They meet for a global consultation every two years.
The report included the voice of small-scale producers from across the region. These views were collected from interviews with producer organisations and included proposals for improving the Farmers’ Forum over the next 10 years.
